Fundamentals of Organizational GHG Accounting

Many companies are currently addressing how to best manage the varying regulatory and stakeholder requirements and pressures around communicating climate change impacts and progress and the issue of organizational GHG accounting is central to this issue. Attend this one-day course to learn about the overlapping as well as distinct requirements related to GHG accounting for a variety of regimes. This course provides the attendee with a firm understanding of preparing and effective and verifiable GHG carbon footprints/inventories for both voluntary and mandatory reporting purposes. The course provides detailed instruction on the fundamentals of organizational and project-based GHG accounting through accepted protocols such as WRI/WBCSD, The Climate Registry (TCR), and California Climate Action Registry (CCAR) protocols. Additional state and project-based protocols such as the Climate Action Reserve (CAR) will also be examined. The course also provides an enhanced focus on the EPA Mandatory GHG Reporting Rule, including a review of applicability and reporting, recordkeeping and monitoring requirements under the rule. EPA Mandatory GHG Reporting Rule compliance strategies will also be discussed. The course will use instructional slides as well as practical examples to allow the attendees to apply the course material. This course is geared toward corporate managers and GHG/Sustainability program managers within industrial organizations.

Using Life Cycle Analysis to Reduce Environmental Footprint

This course introduces students to the key steps in conducting an LCA, emphasizing how to ensure relevant data for improving environmental performance are gathered and analyzed.
