Senior Principal Consultant, West Area Lead
David Cerasale holds a Ph.D. in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from Cornell University, an M.S. in Wildlife Biology from the University of Montana, and a B.S. in Biology from the College of William and Mary. He has more than 20 years of experience in environmental permitting and natural resources research and management. At WestLand, Dr. Cerasale served as Senior Vice President and Pacific Northwest Area Lead. In that role, he managed large, complex permitting processes for clients across the West. During his tenure, he has supported some of the largest metal mining projects in the United States, including Hermosa, Rosemont Copper, and Resolution Copper. He also leads an independent research team for the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service on a species petitioned for listing under the Endangered Species Act.
He now serves as a Discipline Services Lead for Trinity Consultants and is based in Portland, OR. His focus is strategic federal, state, and local permitting, with an emphasis on the hard rock mining and aggregate and construction materials industries.
