/ Senior Aquatic Scientist/Managing Principal
Kim Connors serves as a Fisheries Biologist and a Managing Principal of Minnow Aquatic Environmental Services and has more than 21 years of environmental consulting experience. Kim manages a group of aquatic scientists and supports other project managers as a technical advisor and technical reviewer. Her areas of expertise include aquatic biology, aquatic environmental assessment, ecology, fish health and population evaluation, and fish habitat characterization, particularly serving industries within the natural resource sector.
Kim has applied her expertise to regulatory consulting and permitting, environmental impact assessment, environmental monitoring program design and implementation (including baseline studies and Environmental Effects Monitoring), adaptive management plan development, water and sediment quality evaluations, benthic invertebrate community evaluations, fish surveys, fish habitat assessment, and compensation (offsetting plans).
She is well versed with the various acts, regulations, and policies applied to aquatic environments within Canada and has successfully completed projects involving Fisheries Act authorizations and supported Schedule 2 amendments, provincial permit acquisitions, environmental baseline and environmental impact studies, and the development of long-term monitoring programs. Kim has extensive experience providing input/reports and delivering clear and effective presentations to variety of stakeholders (technical audiences, regulatory communities, public, First Nations) including First Nations consultation, and experience working on large multidisciplinary teams for environmental assessments.
Kim holds a B.Sc. (Biology and Ecology) and a M.Sc. (Fisheries Biology and Physiology) from the University of Waterloo, Ontario. She is also a Qualified Environmental Professional (QEP) in the province of British Columbia (as a Registered Professional Biologist [R.P.Bio]).
