Wes Younger serves as the manager of Trinity?s Bakersfield, California office. Wes has over 25 years of air quality experience, with over 15 of them in air quality consulting. He is a national subject matter expert on air regulations for municipal solid waste landfills, stationary engines, and emissions measurements at the smokestack, at the fenceline, and in ambient air. He has particular experience with MSW landfills, renewable natural gas production, nonmetallic minerals mining and processing, power generation, agriculture, food processing, petroleum and chemical distribution, and the manufacture and testing of space vehicles. As a locally-oriented specialty, he also works with a major portion of California?s pistachio processing industry, which produces a majority of the global pistachio supply.
Having also consulted from Trinity?s Atlanta and Irvine offices, Wes has performed air permitting and compliance consulting in 24 jurisdictions from coast to coast; this gives him an unusual ability to compare and contrast regulations in various jurisdictions and advise on strategic siting of development projects. The majority of his office?s air practice is in the San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District (SJVAPCD), which holds one of only two jurisdictions that have ever held an Extreme Nonattainment designation under the Clean Air Act. As such, he regularly oversees nonattainment permitting projects.
Wes holds the following credentials and industry involvements:
- Solid Waste Association of North America member
- Air and Waste Management Association member
- SJVAPCD Certified Air Permitting Professional (CAPP)
- SJVAPCD Dust Control Certificate
