In today’s global business arena, environmental, health, safety, and sustainability (EHSS) standards have never been more complex and critical. When two large corporations sought to consolidate, standardize, and digitize their environmental, safety, and supply chain risk management processes, they looked to Trinity Consultants for help. Both companies had been Trinity clients for more than a decade, and they wanted to analyze global trends and improve information sharing and data visibility across the organization.

They engaged Trinity’s Digital Solutions team, known for its deep subject matter expertise in EHSS software platforms, to implement CorityOne, an integrated and comprehensive SaaS platform from Cority, the leading provider of EHS & Sustainability software. CorityOne provides a single source of truth for all EHS & Sustainability data, and is recognized for its accessibility, configurability, and broad cross-functional capabilities

Challenge

Trinity was tasked with aligning the companies’ global EHS teams on objectives for implementing each company’s respective CorityOne solution(s). This proved difficult due to the companies’ decentralized management of EHS and supply chain processes, where each facility managed these critical functions locally. As a result, each team had a different set of standard procedures and management processes. In some cases, facilities lacked standard processes altogether; in others, a lack of agreement between stakeholders, client project advocates, and global teams forced project adjustments or delays. The newly deployed solutions also needed to integrate with existing enterprise systems, such as asset management, employee management, and site management, to decrease unnecessary data management from end users. Global user adoption of the CorityOne platform was also a high priority. New users would need to learn how to navigate while adapting to revised EHSS business processes. Deploying a single solution with these complexities would be challenging enough; however, these implementations required the concurrent deployment of multiple EHSS solutions, all within a strict timeline. It was a tall order, but Trinity had the experience and expertise.

Solutions

Trinity kicked off the implementation projects with thorough in-person planning and design sessions, followed by weekly alignment calls with each company’s stakeholders. Weekly technical calls were held with Cority’s team of technical and subject matter experts to ensure a smooth configuration process and alignment with Cority’s best practices and latest product enhancements.

To manage the complexity of the CorityOne implementations, Trinity opted for a multiphase deployment process. Trinity worked closely with the EHSS teams to determine the order of deployment across several two-month phases, allowing for a systematic rollout that minimized disruption and maximized the functionality of each component. Trinity hosted live sessions with the global teams to test and provide input on each solution. Experts within the global teams often had conflicting opinions on the best path forward. Trinity utilized a waterfall-agile project approach, which allowed everyone to align quickly and efficiently. With multiple phases and a short rollout timeline, efficiency was critical. Trinity automated the deployment process using bulk import templates to expedite data migration and seamlessly transfer historical and current client data into Cority before go-live. Integrating various platforms via application programming interfaces (APIs) further enhanced interoperability, facilitating cross-functional task management and information exchange. To drive global data analysis, Trinity leveraged dashboards to highlight important data.

Post-deployment, successful user adoption was driven by hands-on, engaging training sessions. Given the companies’ global footprints, Trinity offered multiple training sessions during regular business hours for each region, substantially increasing attendance rates. The recorded training and associated documentation further empowered the EHSS teams to successfully manage the platform over the long term.

Services Performed

The team designed and implemented the CorityOne platform, managed a multiphase digital rollout, and integrated APIs for cross-platform task management. They delivered global training and sustainment and built dashboards for real-time EHSS trend analysis.

Results

By implementing CorityOne, Trinity helped transform the EHSS teams’ programs into digital powerhouses for reporting and analysis. Team leads have used these new analysis tools to identify and address global trends in non-compliance and operational risk, which would not have been possible without the well executed implementation of Cority’s robust software solutions. EHSS team members’ day-to-day operations have been streamlined, allowing users to focus on business-critical details rather than manage processes. The platform strengthens each organization’s robust compliance culture, emphasizing timely reporting and issue resolution across all levels. Global visibility into EHSS programs and metrics empowers leaders with actionable insights, fostering informed decision-making. Trinity continues to provide sustainment support, education, and training while optimizing and enhancing each company’s unique CorityOne solution. Due to the success of the initial implementation, each company plans to expand its use of Cority, building on its investment in the platform.
