Transition to Trinity Consultants

Westland & Soundview Transition

Hear from some of our team leads on why Trinity was the right fit at the right time.

WestLand Keeps a Critical Minerals Mine on Track with a Rapid Water Treatment Solution

Before a future critical minerals mine in Arizona could begin operations, it needed to dewater and depressurize underground areas, but the undeveloped site had no infrastructure to manage the contaminated water that process would generate. WestLand Resources, a Trinity Consultants team, designed, built, and ran a temporary treatment facility using rented equipment, backed by round-the-clock monitoring and a custom data-tracking app. Over nearly two years, the system treated and safely discharged 14.6 million gallons of water with zero regulatory violations, laying the groundwork for the mine’s permanent treatment plant.

Soundview Turns 40 Wetlands into an Industrial Success Story

NorthPoint Development set its sights on a 350-acre Seattle-area site for an industrial park, but a century of agricultural use had left more than 40 wetlands, multiple streams, and a degraded creek in its way. Soundview Consultants, a Trinity Consultants team, guided the project through wetland and stream delineation, Clean Water Act permitting, and sensitive coordination with the Tulalip and Stillaguamish tribes and the FAA. The result: a Section 404 permit secured in under 12 months, two miles of restored salmonid habitat, and a thriving industrial park now home to tenants including Tesla and Pepsi/Frito-Lay.

Protecting Capital Projects from the Risks That Derail Them

Capital projects of every kind face a familiar set of environmental risks that can stall timelines or push costs beyond what businesses and investors are willing to bear. This piece breaks down the four biggest threats to project momentum: weak early planning and permitting diligence, insufficient community engagement, opposition from NGOs and Tribal nations, and shifting political and regulatory winds. Drawing on experience across mining, renewables, and data centers, our team outlines the best practices that keep projects on track, from front-loading environmental strategy to building the right mix of technical, legal, and communications expertise into the team from day one.

Engineering Certainty into One of Mining's Largest Dewatering Systems

Dewatering is often treated as a background utility, but on large mining projects it shapes everything from mine access and worker safety to capital planning and long-term operating costs. This piece looks at one of the largest active dewatering systems currently in development — designed to handle more than 50,000 gallons per minute across integrated open-pit, wellfield, and underground systems. By evaluating multiple design alternatives against safety, reliability, and cost, our engineering team helped the client move forward with a strategy built for decades of confident, uninterrupted operation.
