Divisional President, Built Environment
Walter Mehl serves as Divisional President, Built Environment and a Managing Partner at Jaros, Baum & Bolles. Since joining JB&B in 1987, he has represented the firm as its principal Electrical Engineer for numerous new construction and retrofit projects located both within the United States and internationally, including projects done for financial and media services firms, museums, residential and hotel/resort facilities. Mr. Mehl has lent his expertise on electrical engineering issues to many JB&B projects, and also has the principal responsibility for JB&B Technologies, the low-voltage services arm of JB&B, which supports the IT, security, audiovisual, RF engineering (antenna systems), building OT cybersecurity and building intelligence design service offerings.
Some of his notable projects for financial services firms include work for JPMorgan Chase at 270 Park Avenue, Citigroup at 388-390 Greenwich Street, Nomura Securities at Worldwide Plaza, Credit Suisse at Eleven Madison Avenue and Barclays at 745 Seventh Avenue. Mr. Mehl has also worked on large commercial projects such as the World Trade Center and One Vanderbilt. He has also been involved with aviation projects and residential projects such as The Greenwich Lane and 111 West 57th Street, both luxury condominium developments in New York City. The Revel Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City, NJ, and Baha Mar Resort in Nassau, the Bahamas are representative of his hospitality and gaming experience, outside of New York City and internationally.
Mr. Mehl holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electrical Engineering from the Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art in New York City. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in numerous States, and is a U.S. Green Building Council LEED Accredited Professional.
