On April 23rd, Trinity Consultants hosted a webinar on the EPA’s finalized the RMP Safer Communities by Chemical Accident Prevention rule (SCCAP). The new updates to the RMP SCCAP rules represent a significant change from the previous EPA amendment. The new and modified requirements essentially provide additional protection to vulnerable communities from chemical accidents. The finalized rule impacts many industries and has key rule changes along with adjustments to compliance timelines.

Our subject matter experts provided a comprehensive review on:
• Changes to the Prevention Program for Program 2 and 3 processes (Subparts C and D) including Process Hazards Analysis (PHA) requirements, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), third-party compliance audits, and employee participation enhancements
• Added Emergency Response (Subpart E) requirements to further connect regulated facilities and local responders
• New information availability requirements
• Compliance timelines
• Technical clarifications

From the dialog with our attendees, Trinity Consultants developed a Top 10 list of questions originating directly from our audience. This compilation addresses the highly complex nature of the finalized rule and offers insight into the key requirements and compliance timelines.

I joined Trinity Consultants because I wanted to take my experience as an engineering student and apply it to a job that was people-oriented and allowed me to explore a wide range of industries. In my time at Trinity, I’ve had the opportunity to both work on a variety of projects and develop my own areas of expertise. As someone who was interested in air dispersion modeling early on, I’ve had the opportunity to grow my experience in that subject area without sacrificing opportunities to try new projects and work with great people. As a Senior Consultant, I now support clients in a variety of industries including data centers, surface coating, Portland cement, lime manufacturing, oil and gas, and more. My project work covers a broad range as well, including air dispersion modeling, routine compliance support, new construction permitting, and stack testing support.
