The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (U.S. EPA) revised the annual National Ambient Air Quality Standard (NAAQS or standard) for particulate matter 2.5 micrometers or less in diameter (PM2.5) from 12.0 µg/m3 to 9.0 µg/m3 on February 7, 2024.
