Charlie Murphy serves as a Principal at JB&B, where he heads up the firm’s Boston office. He leads many of the firm’s complex and technically demanding projects, including laboratory facilities, mission-critical data centers, healthcare environments, and projects with elevated design and finishes, and his design work is noteworthy for its balance of sophisticated building systems with real-world practical solutions.

His leadership of JB&B’s Science & Technology/Life Science Community of Practice has established him as a point person with major life science clients and made him an instrumental part of the firm’s expansion in Massachusetts, and his passion for sustainability and a low-carbon future has inspired him to push the envelope on traditional design and develop unique solutions for each of his projects, including the design of low-carbon buildings.

Mr. Murphy is a licensed Professional Engineer in the States of Arizona, Colorado, Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, and West Virginia, and is a LEED Accredited Professional. He is currently a member of the ASHRAE Technical Committee 9.10 (Laboratory Systems), I2Sl and NAIOP Massachusetts. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Loyola University Maryland.
