Pierre Stecko, M.Sc., EP, R.P.Bio.

Pierre Stecko, M.Sc., EP, R.P.Bio serves as a Principal Scientist and a Managing Principal of Trinity Consultants Canada, formerly known as Minnow Environmental. Pierre was a founding partner of Minnow Environmental and has 23 years of environmental consulting experience. Pierre has managed more than 200 aquatic environmental assessment projects, primarily for the mining industry, and is intimately familiar with associated regulatory and technical requirements. Pierre also supports other Minnow project managers as a technical advisor and senior reviewer. His technical areas of expertise include the aquatic bioavailability and toxicology of metals, aquatic chemistry, aquatic biology, and sediment geochemistry.

Pierre has assisted clients in regulatory consulting and permitting (including with the federal Fisheries Act, the British Columbia Environmental Management Act, the Ontario Environmental Protection Act, the Yukon Environmental and Socioeconomic Assessment Act, and the Yukon Waters Act), environmental monitoring program design and implementation (including baseline studies and Environmental Effects Monitoring), aquatic environmental assessment, aquatic environmental impact assessment, metal bioavailability and toxicological evaluations, water quality objective development, adaptive management plan development, water and sediment quality evaluations, periphyton community evaluations, benthic invertebrate community evaluations, fish surveys, and fish habitat compensation programs. Pierre has extensive experience working as a technical expert within multidisciplinary teams, delivering strategic advice to clients, providing expert opinion at meetings and hearings, delivering clear and effective presentations to a variety of stakeholders (technical audiences, regulatory communities, public, First Nations), and delivering technically sound, clear, and insightful interpretive reports to clients.

Pierre holds a Bachelor of Science degree (University of British Columbia) with a focus on Aquatic Biology/Ecology and a Master of Science degree (Simon Fraser University) with a focus on Aquatic Toxicology and Geochemistry. Pierre is a Qualified Environmental Professional (QEP) in the province of British Columbia (as a Registered Professional Biologist [R.P.Bio.]), and a Certified Environmental Professional (EP) through ECO Canada (water quality, fisheries and wildlife). Pierre is also a certified Project Manager under the Canadian Aquatic Biomonitoring Network (CABIN) and is a member of the Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry.

Kim Connors, M.Sc., R.P.Bio.

Kim Connors, M.Sc., R.P.Bio. serves as a Principal Fisheries Biologist for Trinity Consultants Canada, formerly Minnow Aquatic Environmental Services, and has more than 21 years of environmental consulting experience. Kim manages a group of aquatic scientists and supports other project managers as a technical advisor and technical reviewer. Her areas of expertise include aquatic biology, aquatic environmental assessment, ecology, fish health and population evaluation, and fish habitat characterization, particularly serving industries within the natural resource sector.

Kim has applied her expertise to regulatory consulting and permitting, environmental impact assessment, environmental monitoring program design and implementation (including baseline studies and Environmental Effects Monitoring), adaptive management plan development, water and sediment quality evaluations, benthic invertebrate community evaluations, fish surveys, fish habitat assessment, and compensation (offsetting plans).

She is well versed with the various acts, regulations, and policies applied to aquatic environments within Canada and has successfully completed projects involving Fisheries Act authorizations and supported Schedule 2 amendments, provincial permit acquisitions, environmental baseline and environmental impact studies, and the development of long-term monitoring programs. Kim has extensive experience providing input/reports and delivering clear and effective presentations to variety of stakeholders (technical audiences, regulatory communities, public, First Nations) including First Nations consultation, and experience working on large multidisciplinary teams for environmental assessments.

Kim holds a B.Sc. (Biology and Ecology) and a M.Sc. (Fisheries Biology and Physiology) from the University of Waterloo, Ontario. She is also a Qualified Environmental Professional (QEP) in the province of British Columbia (as a Registered Professional Biologist [R.P.Bio]).

Terry Donnelly

Terry has been the Managing Director of AWN Consulting Limited (AWN) since its formation in 2000. His role involves oversight of the technical teams and direct management of the administrative section handling the accounts, contracts, ICT and human resources.

Terry started out in the field of building services design and gained experience with various practices, including time spent working overseas. In 1988, he joined Environmental Engineering Limited (EEL) as a Divisional Manager and began to broaden the scope of services offered by the company, diversifying into acoustics and air quality. In 1995 he was appointed Managing Director of National Environmental Sciences (NES), a new multi-disciplinary environmental consultancy and part of the EEL group. In addition to his management role he continued to undertake consultancy work, specialising in the area of Environmental Impact Assessment. He also continued his studies, graduating from the Open University with a BSc in Environmental Science.

Terry, along with three other principals, started AWN in 2000. Under his leadership, AWN has seen steady growth, developing a reputation for technical excellence and quality of service across a broad range of environmental disciplines.

Felicity Melville

Felicty Melville, a founding Director of Vision Environment (VE) is a specialist in HSEQ systems and staff/project management with 15 years of experience in environmental assessment particularly intertidal ecosystems. She holds a Bachelor of Science(Hons) and PhD, and is a SCertified Environmental and Quality Management System auditor. Previous ly, she was associated with CSIRO and NSW EPA, and has published numerous peer-reviewed journal articles in international publications.
